Estuve preguntando por un grupo de FB (en inglés) y las respuestas son variadas pero, generalmente, buenas. Las dejo por aquí:
I’ve had a few books in Prime. The amount does vary. The only one I refused when they didn’t offer a payment. I haven’t noticed a dip in sales when the book is in and I’ve considered it as another way of getting readers who might not have read my books to then go in to other books.
I have had a book in Prime reading for 3 months, and they offered me an extension - at a higher rate. Things I noticed:
*KU did not suffer. They’re different.
*Sales of Book 1 dropped slightly (the one in Prime). BUT - sales of books 2-6 went up, because way more people were reading book1.
*I made more money.
If you have a good, strong 5+ book series, I definitely recommend it. Otherwise? Perhaps not.
I used to worry about losing money with Amazon promotions. No more. Anytime Zon wants to promote my books, it’s an automatic YES.
No visible impact for me…
I was offered a really good sum, but my book was doing really well in KU at the time and those page reads fell quite dramatically. I was in the top 100 because of it but didn’t see the sales pick up because of it. I didn’t lose any money because of the bonus which covered the loss in page reads, but didnt make any money either
I did two on AMZ FR but I don’t know if it’s worth it. I think the amount is ridiculous for 183 days, even for a smaller market like France, and truth is if the book isn’t promoted by being on the first pages of their long list of books on Prime, there’s no impact. I’ll say no this time as I said no last time. The first time it was okay, the second I lost sales and pages read. I base my decision of how well the book sells. If it doesn’t sell you can benefit from it, but if it sells well, I wouldn’t do it. Good luck.
